Many studies have shown that beta-carotene and Vitamin A, two carotenoids typically found in macular vitamin products, are either of little value or result in decreased macular health in some clinical groups. PRN Canada has scientifically formulated Macular Vitamin Benefit by removing these ingredients, at the same time maintaining the evidence based components of the Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) formula. This formula incorporates the natural form of Vitamin E as well as B-complex vitamins (B6, B9, B12) shown in recent studies to reduce the risk of developing early stages of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) as well as lutein and zeaxanthin.
